In light of Bernie's rise in the polls, I'm curious what sort of repression Communists and other radicals faced under FDR. J Edgar Hoover was the head of the Bureau of Investigations under FDR, so I'd be flabbergasted if he wasn't attacking Communists and other radicals throughout FDR's presidency.
