Forgive my ignorance, I'm trying to make sense of the history of the Middle East to better understand the current instability of the region, but as I look at different sources, I can't help but wonder how colored by Western bias some of the information might be.Have any of you discovered a book that gives a thorough history of the region but is relatively unbiased, or barring that, has a left leaning bias (this could at least balance out some of the narratives)?Example: Even looking at the Wikipedia article on ISIL, there is very little said about the origin of the group and no real mention of how US military intervention contributed to its rise, but I can't help thinking that the chaos created by the West played a key role. via /r/communism https://ift.tt/2tTedHG
