Being born and raised in East Germany and having met a lot of people from formerly socialist east European countries, as well as following current politics in the region, I ask myself this question:Why are leftist movements and class consciousness in those countries seemingly so weak? Did the pre 1990 education systems of those countries fail to or not attempt to teach their people more in depth theory?
