The situations in China are changing now

About 10 years ago, government is almost synonymous with corruption in China. And I even thought no officals could promote without bribery and the upright offical didn't exist in the real world. At that time, CPC told us Mao Zedong was a great man but also made big mistakes. Mao had 70% credit and 30% fault. He led us out of oppression but also caused the Great Leap Foward and the Cultural Revolution which were totally disasters. It was Deng Xiaoping who saved the economy of China with the Reform and Opening-up. Sounded like China didn't develop at all before 1979.While on the Internet, criticizing Mao Zedong seemed to become a political correctness. Radical ones called Mao the sinner of Chinese nation or a devil. Objective ones thought Mao just knew nothing about economy or he was dazzled by power in his old age. Almost everyone including me thought the foreign moon rounder than the domestic one. Corruption didn't exist in western democratic countries. But after Xi Jinping came into power, China launched the largest anti-corruption campaign I've ever seen. At that time, everyone in officialdom was jittery and we could see the news of arrested officials every day. Even people at the bottom of society could feel attitudes the government toward them changed a lot. This made Xi the most prestigious leader among Chinese people.Xi also claimed historical nihilism should be resisted. We couldn't use the 30 yrs after 1979 to negative the 30 yrs before 1979. The new high school history textbook reduced the negative narrative of Mao Zedong. Also on the Chinese social network platforms, you can see the people are rethinking the evaluations of Mao and Deng. More and more people have again recognized the greatness of Chairman Mao and true colors of Deng. They also realized the ugly faces of western capitalists and imperialists. You can see many people saying "Long live Chairman Mao" or calling for Mao Zedong's coming back.In short, leftists look up again. Situations in China are changing for the better. via /r/communism https://ift.tt/36XRIjF
