Hi. I recently moved from the West coast of the US to a more inland city, and I have a strong desire to take part in direct action. But there is no meaningful, organized action going on here with an explicitly leftist ideology that I have been able to find thusfar. As I see it, Christians have a huge lead on the feeding and sheltering of homeless people here. There is basically no communist or anarchist presence in this city. In contrast, I live within walking distance of multiple Christian missions and shelters for men and women, and I am considering volunteering my free time to organizations of this sort. I am wondering if fellow comrades in my position would consider it good praxis to spend time in organizations of this sort, despite their reactionary tendencies, rather than attempting to build something from the ground up that is explicitly leftist, since such an endeavor would be far more limited in terms of what it could accomplish due to having less resources and funding. via /r/communism https://ift.tt/2FPbCBq
