Hegel and modern China: is China the aufhebung of the Soviet Union?

“Aufhebung” is a German term which has three meanings: “to negate”, “to preserve” and “to surpass”. Hegel, in his works used this term in its three meanings at once to describe some of the processes that exist in reality and human thought. Let’s refer to it as “suprasumption”.The suprasumption of capitalism is communism, for it negates bourgeois private ownership while preserving both the technology from capitalism and certain forms of private property. By also collectivizing the means of production, communism surpasses its previous system.(First off, let me just say that I am not that deep into Hegel yet. I have much to learn, so if any comrade has any disagreement or complement, please say so)Ok. So the Soviet Union was certainly the suprasumption of capitalist Europe, even though it wasn’t fully communist yet, and only socialist. Socialism could be perceived as the constant process of small suprasumptions in order to achieve communism. Lenin and Stalin constantly urged for the necessity of “fortifying the foundations of Socialism in the USSR” through “theory and praxis”.The essential difference between socialism and “state capitalism” is in the three time spheres: past (the origins of the Revolution, and the role of the proletariat/peasantry in the Revolutionary struggle), present (the representation of said classes, as well as the diffusion of theory amongst them, while those who have theory do praxis) and future (its goal for a communist society). State capitalism rarely has the socialist past, and NEVER had its present nor its future. It’s a vacuous term. That being said, we can better see one of the fatal flaws of post-Stalin USSR, and the major strength of China in the same period. Kruschev and all the Soviet leaders after him negated Stalin’s legacy completely, claiming for a return to “true Leninism”. Brezhnev only silenced the criticisms, with no engagement in it.Meanwhile, the CCP preserved, criticized and aimed to surpass the legacy of Stalin! Afterwards, Deng did the same with Mao’s legacy and now, Xi Jinping does the same, in an indirect way, with Deng’s legacy through his anti-corruption campaign and his policies valuing the study of theory, while aiming for better living and working conditions for Chinese workers. The anti-corruption campaign recognizes the failings of the CCP and the decaying influence the “domesticated bourgeoisie” had in it. The study of theory (and also the sending of party cadres to the countryside) approach both the workers to Marxism and Marxists to workers. The betterment of living conditions, as well as the use of new technologies for economic planning, aims at building a more advanced socialist state. Is this correct or am I missing/misunderstanding something? via /r/communism https://ift.tt/3bcge33
