I think we need to focus more on indigenous issues

I'm watching a video right now from anticonquista and I feel that, the original reason why I voted for Jill Stein in the 2016 election, was because of the assassination of indigenous journalists and activists in places like Honduras and Guatemala. Why? Because who speaks for the indigenous people? I felt I had to vote for someone who at least acknowledged the assassination for Berta Caszeraz and attended the pipeline protests in 2016. My Trump supporting even came immediately afterwards because I was angry and insecure. I didn't know better. But that's neither here nor there.I'm watching this right now specifically. It's an interview with Immortal Technique. While I wish Immortal Technique had read more Marx, he is right on the money so far. I was there in Bolivia. A day after I left that country, Evo Morales was gone from office. But I remember the racism during the "protest" movement, the hatred towards the indigenous. Just recently they were called "savages" in Bolivia by this mestizo "interim" President. I fear for Venezuela if Juan Guiado becomes "interim" President.I remember when I read a story from a woman who is Cherokee and the pain that she went through at one point. And I wondered to myself: who speaks for the indigenous? Well, I think that they mustn't be the only ones to speak for themselves (although I hope that doesn't make me seem too "saviorist" if that's the case). What I mean is that we have to work with them more. That's what I believe in and help get indigenous issues more prominent. They are the first ones that must receive their rights when the revolution comes.Sorry, just had to get this out there. via /r/communism https://ift.tt/3bqVnJf
