What do you say to somebody that says socialism/communism doesn’t work?

I always don’t know what would be an argument against people saying that every socialist country in history has been incredibly authoritarian and has treated people who where deemed enemies very badly (executions, gulag, etc...) thought maybe you could help me out. via /r/communism https://ift.tt/34E3Zuw
