I am forced to take this philosophy of science course to get upper division credits for my degree. To my surprise, the very first assignment talks a lot about Marxism. My professor cites an argument by a philosopher named Karl Popper, in which he says Marxism is a pseudoscience because it does not make precise hypotheses. In a word, Popper says Marxism fails to be falsifiable. My professor likens Marxism to the broadness of astrological predictions of someone's personality. There's a discussion board currently about this, and I'd like to be prepared to write a powerful counter. Does anyone know how I can demonstrate dialectical materialism is scientific - and therefore Marxism is scientific, especially in the sense that it is precise? via /r/communism https://ift.tt/2SbP9p0
