Not sure if this is the right place to post but I've recently been interested in looking at political/economic indices as a way of quantitatively visualising geopolitical history and future projections (it's basically for a worldbuilding project I'm working on in my spare time, nothing that has to be super rigorous) but any measures of "democracy" and "rights" are unsurprisingly always biased towards bourgeois democracy and never taking into account things like workplace democracy and people's committees, nor de facto disenfranchisement of minorities. I assume because a lot of them are created by Western capitalist economists and businesspeople.Are there any geopolitical indexes for stuff like democracy/politics rights/civil liberties/worker rights/economics etc. that have a less bourgeois and more historical materialist slant? via /r/communism https://ift.tt/2sIojuU
