I know socialism is not communism and it is just the path that leads to actual communism ( which I doubt any of us will manage to witness in their lifetime ), but from my experience ( I lived for more than a decade in a socialist republic ) life was not better than it is today, in some cases it was better in some cases it was worse.I know that racism, minority rights and healthcare are the most important things for most of you, but in the socialist republic that I lived in, minorities such as hungarians were forced to change their names and in some cases even forbidden to use their own language, gypsies were treated like 2nd class cititzens and segregated into ghettos, homosexuals were either abused by the people who had and still have here homophobic views or by the police, and healthcare despite the fact that it was “free” it was shit and not actually free ( bad quality medical supplies, not very well trained doctors in poorer areas and you had to give nurses and doctors luxuries such as cigarettes coffee alcohol money for them to actually perform a decent job on you).I am not satisfied with capitalism either, but neither am I with socialism ( only from what I experienced )Why is always people who never lived in a socialist country that want socialism? via /r/communism https://ift.tt/389M26o
