I currently advocate for market socialism as the immediate next step away from capitalism. Because I don’t see communism as being attainable in my own lifetime, I never really bothered to read up much on it, so I’d like to get a few things straight. These might sound like misinformed questions, but the unfortunate reality is that I just need help wrapping my head around the idea of a non market-based society.1: Is it correct that socialism (generally) regulates production while communism (generally) regulates production and consumption?2: How does one go about attaining personal wants under communism? If I wanted to build a nice house or get a nice car, what would I do?3: What is the rebuttal to the whole “human nature” thing? It’s been a minute since I’ve read any theory, but I recall Marx saying that the reason we screw each other over is because we’re primed to under hierarchical societies. If that hierarchy is removed and we no longer have to compete for survival or personal enrichment, then that urge will no longer be prominent. But that again leads me to wonder how people go about attaining the things they want that aren’t necessities. via /r/communism https://ift.tt/2I3JHlH
