I have a Czech friend that hates the USSR and told me that it was the US that liberated Czechslovakia, that "in the USSR, schools taught them that the Russian liberated their country" and that they "altered history in schools to support Soviet propaganda".So I didn't believe him since I knew that the regions integrated into the USSR were liberated by the Soviet and thought he was just making up stuff to back up his negative opinion of Soviet Russia. Then I found out that it's not only him, but majority of the Czech people believe that it was the US that liberated their country. And not only the people, most of Czech media and publications outright deny or heavily downplay the role of the Soviet in WWII.https://ift.tt/2J00vqE you google "Liberation of Czechoslovakia" and look at Czech websites, they outright lie that the Americans did it or depict the Prague Offensive as "a Soviet strategy to occupy the region". via /r/communism https://ift.tt/33rM9Jh
