Drugovac massacre

On this day, April 29th, 76 years ago, in 1944 the Drugovac massacre was carried out by the right wing Serbian Chetnik movement. After a firefight with the Partisans, the Chetniks entered the village, they went from house to house and forced the villagers to the center of the village. Then they started executing the villagers either by shooting them or by stabbing/beating them to death. In total 72 people were killed, 120 houses set on fire and around 200 looted. To this day this massacre is denied and even ignored by right-wingers in Serbia, despite it being ordered personally by the leader of the Chetnik movement, Draža Mihajlović (who they view as a “hero”).Drugovac massacre Monument via /r/communism https://ift.tt/3aHLuoR
