I saw a reddit post from some subreddit and it had an article that claimed that china controls tiktok and gave some evidence like how tik tok removed videos of the hong kong riots and tiananmen square. There are several articles linking the two. Everyone blames communist China even though similar things like censorship happens on every other social media.For example, instagram removed a post by a politically communist account that stated “The only good fascist is a dead fascist” and had a picture of hitler as a skeleton.Also it upsets me that now people are further blaming communism for china’s connection to Tik Tok when the owner of the app and company was kick started by several capitalist. (As i’m writing this i don’t have the source but i will go back in find it from the original post i saw and that article which has a right wing view).What are your thoughts about these claims and how China “controls” tik tok? I personally think it’s another propaganda tool against Communism since the investigation into tik tok was done by America and it only concerned right leaning politicians (which is technically almost of American Politics)also in the reddit post, some people agreed with the article and stated “ that’s why i always saw pro socialist videos” and further comments bashing communism and socialism.
