Un-education and the mark of adulthood

Seeing how petulant a child is Elon Musk--and many other billionares--gives me a reason to think about the whole "adulthood" thing. When you are young, you are taught about the qualities a person should have, right: friendly, cooperative, forgiving, humble, etc.But when you grow up, you become more aware of how the society is structured to not award these qualities, and in fact those who act the opposite of them are applauded: aggressive, avaricious, apathetic, etc. Thus, the mark of adulthood as far as society concerned is to unlearn all you have been taught, and instead adopt said terrible qualities as your own.I say: Fuck that! What you learnt about compassion, solidarity, etc. are the real thing to be celebrated and educated again and again to every generation. They are what keep the civilization going forward, not the ceaseless death-or-alive battle royale pitched between the individuals for the ever-dimishing resources, the resources that they waste away by fighting each other.On the other hand, don't be surprise to see society rot and being ran into the ground by man-childs. It is that society who encourages these man-childs to be as petulant, obnoxious and sadistic in the first place.
