Communist views on regional independence?

Forgive me if this is obvious, but I'm at a moral dilemma.Lately I've been feeling the pull of secessionism. I don't feel any loyalty to the United States as a state, nor do I personally relate to most of its peoples or nations. But the northwest is everything I've truly known as home, and I can't help but feel the pull. It's something I would happily fight to defend.Obviously I still believe in a fundamental and inherent equality of all peoples, not just those in my region, and believe in universal rights. But I just don't know if I have it in me to keep giving a shit about Texans or New Yorkers as my fellow countrymen. I genuinely see them about the same as I see the Germans, or Egyptians, or the Chinese, they just happen to be closer and more openly hostile, and unfortunately have a say in laws that apply to me, so I pay more attention to them.If I were to accept it as part of my beliefs, would I be abandoning comrades? Is there room for this to coexist with my communist beliefs? via /r/communism https://ift.tt/3deDuNv
