I don't know if this belongs here, but is anyone else unable to connect with most pop culture as a communist? The more I learn, the more I see how liberal bourgeois attitudes seem to infect everything. I can't stand watching most tv shows or movies anymore now that I'm aware of all the implicit propaganda. As a POC, it also really disturbs me seeing how almost all cultural matters are dominated by white westerners and controlled according to their standards. It seems like they're always the ones who get to decide what the best movies, music, games, etc are and which ones should get the most attention. Even foreign culture isn't safe from it. I used to love anime/manga for example. Despite it being made by Asians, a ton of it features white characters, European settings, white European culture as well.
