I'm trying to cover the time period between about 1960 and 1980 through works about that time by international authors, does anyone have any recommendations.

This is for younger highschool-aged kids. So far I have Persepolis and 100 years of solitude. I'd love some recommendations for an accessible book about the cold war or the space race from a non-american perspective to pair with one from an American author.
