Context: I'm ace and am trying to use terminology everyone can be comfortable with.
So, I used the word 'panphobia' to describe bigotry against pan folks in the r/lgballt sub (the same way we use words like homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, etc.)
However, a couple of people in the comments objected, because 'panphobia' is also used to describe a severe form of anxiety, so they felt it was insensitive to use the term in an LGBT+ context. They suggested other terms such as 'triggering to pan people,' 'bigoted against pan people,' etc. but all of these are inconvenient to have to say and type all the time (not to mention they may feel slightly invalidating to pan people, although I don't want to assume on your behalf, please correct me if I'm wrong). Surely there must be a better solution so that everyone can feel comfortable?
TL;DR - was told it's insensitive to use 'panphobia' to describe bigotry against pans, would like advice for what would be a better word to use?
