I've seen a lot of posts about an 'upcoming revolution' in the west, specifically America. While I'm not too hopeful for the western left, I do believe we should be trying to organize, educate, and agitate. However I think we're not discussing practical efforts enough right now, especially with the surgence of the left in America facing its current crises. The PSL and other organizations are even having trouble filtering in new members because of this (I applied two weeks ago and still haven't heard back)Idk maybe I'm just not paying attention enough personally or getting out there, but I feel like our primary, and in fact only, necessary discussion right now should be about organization, mobilization, and direct revolutionary tactics. And of course, immediate action on that discussion. We're at the most decisive point that America has objectively ever been in! An ongoing pandemic that is decimating our economy beyond great depression levels, the highest rate of anti-capitalist sentiment among younger generations, literal months of direct revolt across all major states against police brutality that has only worsened peoples faith in the system after no major reforms were taken, a neofascist leader actively merging state and corporate power and once again worsening peoples faith in the system, I could go on. I know we ARE discussing this, that much is obvious, but it feels to me this is THE point in history where we all need to collectively get off our ass and mobilize towards a common set of goals and revolution. Am I the only one who feels this isn't getting done? To me it feels like among the left communities we're just as (in)active as ever, except for the anarchists we're constantly trashing (the Seattle autonomous zone may have been a failure, but at least they have something to show for themselves)! The people are already waking up, it's time for us to mobilize them, isn't it? Every single one of us needs to be doing this, collectively, but it feels like business as usual to me within our communities. Lots of speculation and 'is this the moment?' instead of actually seizing our best opportunity that has been presented to us in the history of this shithole country!Idk maybe I'm just ranting but I feel useless rn and I feel like there's so much more we could ALL be doing via /r/communism https://ift.tt/2DlKRXA
